The blog

On a sultry afternoon in Spring,
drinking tea, listening to cicadas

Our Piece of it is a blog about my life as I live it, and sometimes as I’ve lived it, plus all the random stuff I find interesting.

My name is Naomi.  I live with my husband in Copacabana (Australia not Brazil) and I work in Sydney.  I’m a librarian, a law student, and a New Zealander.

Subject to circumstance and mood, I love baking biscuits, blogs, bodyboarding, buying stuff online, going out for breakfast, having a few wines with friends, reading, sitting on my couch, studying, sweeping leaves, twirling my hair, wandering around art galleries, and window-shopping.

At the moment, I’m fascinated by John Safran’s documentaries; I’m loving Loretta and Cheryl on Outrageous Fortune and Sookie from the Sookie Stackhouse novels; I’m enjoying listening to People are expensive, by Echobelly; I’ve developed a bit of an obsession for design blogs; And I’m wondering if the kookaburras and lorikeets will stop landing in our trees when we get a cat.

I try to post at least once a week.  And I love comments, so if you want to contribute, even if it’s just to say hi, I’d love to read what you have to say.  But, I will get all red-faced and shirty and delete your comment if you say anything nasty and I feel it’s unwarranted.

If you’re wondering why the comments function is disabled for this page, well um, it’s my solution to not having worked out how to update my ‘about’ page while ensuring everyone’s comments still make sense, and feeling guilty about archiving those comments along with previous versions of my ‘about’ page…
