Book fair browsing

As we wandered around looking at dusty old books, the elderly lady at the church book fair sat back on a wooden bench seat, behind one of five long tables of old books, like it was a soft, cushioned, floral couch covered in doilies. The queen of her domain, there was something relaxing and conducive to book browsing about the patter she kept up with her companion an elderly man who was mostly silent but obedient as he made cups of tea and opened biscuit packets.

Twenty minutes later I purchased ‘Our man in Havana’ by Graham Greene, two old Cuisine magazines, and a children’s book that Eddie found, which I bought just so I could post the cover page here.

Of course he found it funny in an “Oh my god, I’m stuck in the library, and that is NOT cool at all” sort of way.

But, I find it funny in a darker “Oh my god, I’m stuck in the library and I work here… please, someone, GET ME OUT OF HERE” sort of way.

Help! I'm a prisoner in the library!

Just think we’ve got Australia day in a few weeks… does that help? :-)
Eddie mentioned yesterday that we would be back at work in ten days and I said something melodramatic like “Don’t! Don’t say that! I can’t hear that right now!” Holidays are so good, yet so bad for taking away my will to work…
