ANZAC biscuits
This morning, I whipped up a batch of ANZAC biscuits before going to the Tilbury in Woolloomoolo for lunch. When I write ‘whipped up’ it makes it seem like the ANZAC biscuits were delicious doesn’t it? If only they were, then I wouldn’t have had to worry about whipping up another batch when I got home from lunch full of barramundi, honey tart and Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc.
Normally, I wouldn’t bother cooking biscuits under the influence ’cause they’re not really munchy food are they? Trouble is, I’m part of an ANZAC biscuit bake-off at work tomorrow, so I had to make another batch. I pulled them out of the oven an hour ago. They’re not going to win me any prizes… but, at least these ones look and taste like ANZAC biscuits and I now have edible evidence that I’m a real New Zealander.
So were your aNZacs competing against Australian Anzacs? How did you get on? Honey tart sounds lovely. I’ve recently developed a liking for treacle tart.
I can’t quite believe how unmotivated I have become at work. Luckily I have a team of people who will doubtless be keen for an hour long coffee break in a few minutes.
I didn’t win! But, they were delicious, even if I do say so myself.
Treacle tart. Yum! That sounds very Enid Blyton
